Oris Artelier Review

Understanding the History of the Oris Artelier Collection

Just before Oris celebrated the 100th anniversary in 2014, the company had achieved a lot. The Artelier series of wristwatches was one of the achievements. Oris’ focus was on traditional timepieces that maintain the classic nature while showcasing Oris’s commitment to luxury watchmaking since its initiation in 1904.

In 2003, Oris had much to offer to its customers. It introduced the Artelier collection and signed a deal with the Williams Formula 1 team. The collection involved elegant timepieces that proudly utilize the Oris's arsenal calibers. These watches were redesigned and reinforced to fit the classic target look.

Before then, Oris had officially registered the Red Rotor as their official trademark, and the collection enjoyed the brand symbol as a sign of high quality Swiss mechanical timepieces. Since it was launched in 2003, Oris Artelier collection has advanced through the production of new glamorous and high-end models. Besides, the Oris Artelier collection remains a central pillar in the Oris Collections.

What Defines the Oris Artelier Collection Watches?

The Oris Artelier Collection Quality and Accuracy

Oris Artelier collection has luxury watches with high-end features and movements. These features translate to high quality. Quality in house movements and high precision translates to high accuracy. If you have to compare its quality and accuracy with other brands, think about the standards of TAG Heuer and Longines. Being a Swiss Company, it complies with the Swiss watchmaking standards, and this gives assurance that the watches produced are excellent. While manufacturing their timepieces, the focus is given on an individual watch, especially on the assembling stage. Every watchmaker attends to a particular timepiece.

The Oris Artelier Collection Movements

To mark their 110 anniversary, Oris reintroduced the in-house movements. This was after 35 years since they considered an in house movement. It all started with the Oris caliber 110, a hand-wound caliber. Caliber 110 is big with a power reserve that goes to a maximum of ten days. Also, it enables the linear power reserve indicator. With an increased desire to exploit things further, Oris advanced the 110 movements to Caliber 111, 112, and 113. Artelier caliber 111 adds the date window, caliber 112 the GMT function, and caliber 113 the pointer-date calendar. The various watches in this collection feature any of those high performing movements.

Oris Artelier Calibre 111

This watch is named after the Oris in house caliber 111. The 34mm movement is hand-wound with hour, minutes and small second’s hand. The date aperture is at 9 o’clock and the non-linear power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. The power reserve serves you for 240 hours. The classic looking watch has a small and large dial. The hands have a Super-LumiNova to enable reading in a low light condition. The 43mm ORIS ARTELIER CALIBRE 111 watch has a flat screw-down sapphire crystal case back and it sits comfortably on your wrist. With an excellent finish, you can choose either a Leather or Stainless Steel bracelet. Both come with a folding clasp.

Oris Artelier Skeleton

The Oris skeleton watch tends to have its movement on display. It is an excellent design and very prevalent nowadays. With the automatic winding Oris skeleton movement, the Oris Artelier skeleton watch performance is excellent. The movement is strongly suspended and well decorated, giving the watch a good look. The 40mm Artelier skeleton has round and even case with quality polishing. The watch comes with a stiff brown leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet.

Oris Artelier Complication

The Oris Artelier Complication holds a key position in both the Oris brand and Oris Artelier collection. In 1991 after the quartz crisis, Oris introduced the first Complication. The watch was given such a name because it had classic complications like day, date, seconds, and moon phase indicators. In 2017, Oris decided to give Complication an advanced facelift. This is evidence from the first look at the case, dial, and straps.

The 40MM Oris Artelier moon phase has slimmer lugs and a less conspicuous bezel. At the front, the case is glass sandwiched, and at the back, you can easily see the Calibre 781 which is a modified Sellita SW200. The dials have either a warm tone with gold plated hour markers and hands or blue hands and markers. At 12, you will notice the moon phase. The date sub-dial is at 9, day time is at 6, and the second’s time zone at 4.

Every Oris complication moon phase comes with a characteristic strap. The good thing is that they all pair and complement the watch. For instance, the blue leather strap for a watch with blue hands and markers and brown straps matches with rose gold. The capability to choose the Oris Artelier complication moon phase with silver dial on a strap, silver dial on a bracelet, blue strap, or silver-blue on bracelet gives wide options to buyers.

Oris Artelier Chronometer Date

With a smooth case, the 40mm Oris Artelier Chronometer Date is an eye-catching and elegant dress watch. It has a traditionally engraved dial, very light, and fits perfectly on your wrist. The gold plated hands, indices, and the date aperture enhance the overall appearance of the watch. Other key features include the use of Oris Cal. 737, the presence of sapphire crystal, and Super-LumiNova for legibility. It is available in leather and stainless steel bracelets.

Oris Artelier Pointer Day Date

The pointer complication just like the Red Rotor is the signature that shows the independence of Oris. In the Oris Artelier Pointer Day-Date, the pointer with a red tip indicates the day of the week. With the stainless steel polished case, and screwed case back, the 40mm watch uses automatic mechanical movement Oris Cal. 755. The sapphire crystal on either side has anti-reflective properties. The timepiece is available in a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet.

Oris Artelier Date Diamonds

The watch has 12 brilliant-cut diamonds present on the dial. The 33mm stainless steel timepiece is the ladies’ favorite, and it fits perfectly on their wrist. It uses the 17.2mm caliber 561 movements with a 38 power reserve. The watch comes in two versions, and you are free to select a silver or anthracite dial. In either version, the 12 diamonds fixed on the dial remains. However, the straps vary with the option of leather or stainless steel.

Oris Artelier Calibre 112

Introduced in 2016, Oris Artelier Caliber 112 is named after the Oris Caliber 112 movement. It features a power reserve for ten days, a nonlinear indicator, a GMT function, and a date aperture. The sporty dress watch is a classic timepiece for any occasion you plan to attend. With a 43mm case, curved lugs, thin bezel, and three sub-dials, the timepiece feels comfortable to wear. The timepiece is available in the blue dial on a bracelet and blue dial on a strap.

The watch version has a lot to indicate and everything perfectly fits without confusion and with high readability.
