The Art of Guilloché
The SB04-E “Exquisite Blue Guilloché”, created in collaboration with Exquisite Timepieces, showcases the timeless elegance of in-house guilloché.
The outer ring reveals a stunning blue gradient — fading from deep navy to pale sky — meticulously engraved so that it catches and scatters light with every movement of the wrist.
In contrast, the inner dial presents a pristine white guilloché, offering a calm, radiant canvas that highlights the interplay of depth, texture, and color.
Precision in Design
Floating above this sculpted canvas is the SB04-E’s signature sapphire ring — ultra-thin and anti-reflective — carrying the indexes without obstructing the guilloché beneath.
Even-numbered markers are diamond-cut and polished to perfection, while odd-numbered markers are delicately pad-printed in Sartory-Billard’s signature Y-pattern.
This layering of elements creates an illusion of depth — as if the guilloché itself is floating beneath the surface, alive with light and shadow.
Hands That Illuminate
Each hand is cut from metal with diamond precision and finished by hand.
The hour and minute hands are brushed and filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova®, glowing turquoise in the dark.
The seconds hand, slender and balanced, sweeps gracefully across the dial, tracing an invisible path over the guilloché patterns.
Time becomes a moving sculpture — revealing nuances of texture and light as the day passes.
Heritage in Motion
This collaboration with Exquisite Timepieces continues Sartory-Billard’s pursuit of combining aesthetic precision with mechanical integrity.
Every detail — from the engraved caseback to the 7mm screw-down crown — reflects refinement and purpose.
Water-resistant to 100 meters, the SB04-E balances durability with elegance — every element serving both design and performance.
The Legacy of Guilloché
For over two centuries, guilloché has represented the perfect harmony between art and mathematics in watchmaking.
Born in 18th-century Europe, this engraving technique was once reserved for royal objects and fine jewelry before finding its ultimate expression in watchmaking.
At Sartory-Billard, this heritage is not simply preserved — it is reimagined. In our Saint-Croix workshop, traditional motifs are brought to life through modern CNC engraving, transforming metal into a living texture of light and motion. The color gradient, crafted in Geneva, adds a contemporary dimension to this timeless artistry, while each watch is finally assembled by Armand in France.
The SB04-E “Exquisite Blue Guilloché” embodies this union of past and present — where ancestral craftsmanship meets modern execution, and color becomes the bridge between tradition, innovation, and emotion.
