In 1970, Seiko released ref. 6105-8110, a 150-meter water-resistant diver’s watch featuring a cushion case design with a signed crown at the 4 o’clock position. The timepiece found favor among adventurers who required a watch of exceptional strength, including Japanese adventurer, Naomi Uemura, who completed a solo dog-sled run from Greenland to Alaska, a journey of 12,000 kilometers that took eighteen months.
