Angelus Watch Review

Angelus: The Introduction If you're a new watch enthusiast or even a seasoned watch collector, then you should know how unique the Angelus brand is, it is a splendid and priceless addition to any collection. The Angelus is easily one of our preferred watch brands.

History of Angelus Watches

The Angelus brand began its life in 1891 and dating well over 125 years; the timepieces are still covered by watch collectors all over the world today. The brand started with the two Stolz brothers, in the Swiss village of Le Locle, the heart of many well-known watch brands. The two brothers produced pocket and wristwatches and at the time, included different mechanisms into these watches. These innovations won the brothers a lot of prizes. The brand quickly rose and established itself as a significant power in the watch-making industry. Their great work spanned for the next thirty years, and just before WWII, the brand pioneered a distinct wristwatch at the time, a chronograph they called "Chronodato." This watch became a revolution for the brand due to its pinpoint accuracy and different designs on its case. In no time, it became the top-selling timepiece. Every brand has its defining watch that starts its legacy; for the Rolex, it was the Submariner; for the omega, it is the Speedmaster; Angelus's most notable watch is the chronodato.

Early in the 20th century, Angelus developed its long-lasting reputation because of its accurate chronographs. The most well-known models were the 1942 model "Chronodate" and the 1943 model "Chronodato." The world's first chronograph watches with calendar function. Angelus brand made confident decisions, the highlight being the automatic watch "Tinkler" in 1957, which featured a quarter-repeating complication. However, only a small amount was manufactured, in the order of only 100.
The Angelus brand continued producing excellent quality watches through time before they released the superior wristwatch in 1978, a five-minute repeating timepiece. The Chronodato remained Angelus' most famous piece. The blend of the aviator's chronograph function with the practical triple date complications, which included the day of the week, date, and month, gave the well-designed watch its revered status and value. Angelus is a historic brand that was revived by La Joux-Perret and master lead designer Sebastien Chaulmonte.

The Type of Watches Angelus Makes

The partly painted magenta compliments the purples, greens, and blues of the Calavera skull. The ravishing colors of the watch bring out its beauty, merging its fantastic lines and hues. The steel case of the U10 Calavera resembles an electric shaving razor steel and is toned to prevent contrasting with the beautiful colors of the watch's hands.

The case of the Angelus U21 Tourbillon is constructed entirely with NPT carbon-fiber and 18-karat red gold – The Angelus U21 is priced on request, as there are limited amounts available. The skeletonized bridges and other moving elements such as the 18-karat red gold and variety of polished surfaces amplify the beauty of the U21 tourbillon.
