About Felipe Pikullik

While dedication from an early age is often seen among independent watchmakers, it is rare to see them form their own brand very early into adulthood. Completing his watchmaking education in Glashütte, Germany in 2014, then going on to work with Rolf Lang as an apprentice to refine his craft, Felipe Pikullik founded his own brand in 2017 at only 23 years of age. Based in Berlin, Felipe Pikullik manufactures modern timepieces that highlight traditional craft and hand finishing, focusing on quality over quantity.

Felipe Pikullik History

Born in 1994, Felipe Pikullik’s journey into watchmaking started quite early, with him disassembling and reassembling watches by the age of 13. In 2012, he enrolled in watchmaking school in Glashütte, Germany, the center of watchmaking within Germany. His dedication to learning his craft gained the attention of his instructors, dedicating much of his free time to refining his skills. After completing watchmaking school, Felipe Pikullik worked with Rolf Lang in 2014, focusing on research and development, gaining a great deal of technical knowledge and refining his craftsmanship. In 2015, Felipe Pikullik returned to Berlin, where he began work in high-end watch repair. In 2017, he decided to set out on his own, creating his own brand and unveiling the Prius Collection, featuring five fully skeletonized watches. From there, he focused on creating unique designs, building a list of clients based on word of mouth, gaining attention for his high level of quality and craftsmanship. In 2020, he started to have permanent models offered in his collection, starting with the ZBM1. He has also expanded his team, including mentorship programs, fostering future talents within watchmaking. He also developed his own 3D moonphase complication, which gained him a GPHG nomination in 2023. Felipe Pikullik continues to find ways to further refine his craft, create innovative designs, and offer clients high quality, hand finished timepieces.

Felipe Pikullik Collections

Felipe Pikullik’s catalogue currently consists of 5 collections. There is the Sternenheimel, Moonphase One, FPSK Series, HTH, and Klassik collections, each with their own personality.

Sternenheimel

The Felipe Pikullik Sternenheimel collection is an ode to the cosmos, with its stunning blue or green aventurine dial with diamond indices. Available in 38.5mm or 41mm, there is also the option of diamond set lugs. The manually wound movement is hand skeletonized and finished, including a hand-engraved balance cock.

Moonphase 1

Continuing to rely on traditional techniques executed by hand and manual tools, the Moonphase 1 features an in-house developed moonphase display that features a three dimensional rotating representation of the moon from the perspective of the southern hemisphere, an ode to Felipe Pikullik’s Brazilian heritage. The stainless steel case houses a manually wound movement, with exposed gearing on the dial side, again to display Felipe Pikullik’s high level of craftsmanship. Nominated in 2023 for a GPHG Award in the Astronomy category, there is an Anthracite dial version and a meteorite dial available as well.

FPSK Series

The FPSK Series stands for Felipe Pikullik Skeleton, a yearly series started in 2022 that recognizes the first watches to carry the Felipe Pikullik name on the dial. In 2024, FPSK series features three versions of a fully skeletonized movement, one fully engraved with a white rhodium finish, one fully engraved with a black rhodium finish, and finally one that is black rhodium finish with no engraving. Each version highlights different finishing techniques, displaying the brand’s expertise. The FPSK25 features a manually wound movement with a regulator display, again fully skeletonized and engraved, with both black rhodium and rose gold finishes. Every open worked bridge, polished bevel, and facet of the movement and case are hand finished to the highest standards.

HTH

The focus of the HTH collection is the hand finished dial. The brass dial has a frosted finish that is black rhodium coated to create the anthracite finish. The chapter ring and hands and black polished, creating contrast through finishing techniques. Available in 38.5mm or 41mm, there are also different numeral styles available, allowing customers to customize their timepiece. Blending both traditional and modern aesthetics , the HTH collection is Felipe Pikullik’s take on contemporary haute-horology.

Klassik

The most traditional in appearance of Felipe Pikullik’s watches, the Klassik collection features his own case design, with a more traditional solid colored dial with stick indices. Available in black, green, or blue, with 38.5mm and 41mm case options, the Klassik collection still highlights the watchmaker’s attention to detail, especially with the hand finished manually wound movement that can be seen through the display case back.

How Much Do Felipe Pikullik Watches Cost?

Felipe Pikullik aims to offer the best watches he can possibly produce, focusing on high levels of finishing and craftsmanship with his timepieces. They are luxury, hand made watches. With that though, Felipe Pikullik manages to offer a great deal of value, as the brand’s watches sell for a relatively affordable price given the quality and attention to detail. The Klassik models start at $8,800 and the Mondphase 1 Meteorite sells for $35,000. Other models typically range from $14,000 to $25,000, depending on available options and complications. Below is an overview of the different models, their prices, and some of the defining features.

Model Starting Price Unique Features
Felipe Pikullik HTH $16,500 Anthracite finished brass dial with black polished applied chapter ring and hands, custom applied chapter ring options available.
Felipe Pikullik FPSK24 Black $24,500 Brushed and polished fully skeletonized movement with black rhodium plating.
Felipe Pikullik Klassik $8,800 Black, blue, and green dial options, with either 38.5mm or 41mm stainless steel case. Hand finished movement seen through display case back.
Felipe Pikullik Mondphase 1 $29,900 3D moonphase display from the perspective of the southern hemisphere, open worked gearing dial side, with hand finished movement with engraved balance cock viewed from the rear.
Felipe Pikullik Sternenheimel $14,000 Blue or green aventurine dial with diamond indices, optional diamond set lugs on the case.

Felipe Pikullik Movements

Likely the most important aspect of Felipe Pikullik watches are the movements. From the Klassik collection to the fully skeletonized FPSK timepieces, each Felipe Pikullik timepiece features a manually wound movement that is hand finished and polished to the highest degree. The balance cocks are gold plated and hand engraved, a signature of Glashütte style watchmaking. This is where the traditional elements of Felipe Pikullik’s work are focused, and his commitment to the highest levels of craftsmanship truly shine.

Felipe Pikullik Watch Colors

With a focus on traditional craft and workmanship, most Felipe Pikullik models feature metal toned brass dials (for those with conventional dials), or open worked dials, displaying the hand finished movement. The Klassik collection has the option of a black, blue or green dial, and the Sternenheimel collection offers either a blue or green aventurine glass dial.

Felipe Pikullik Watch Materials

Felipe Pikullik utilizes stainless steel for the cases of their watches, sapphire crystals for the front and rear displays, and calfskin leather for straps. Dial materials used are brass and aventurine glass for models with a more “traditional” dial. The Sternenheimel models feature diamonds on the dial, with optional diamond set lugs.

Felipe Pikullik Watch Types

Felipe Pikullik produces what could be best described as contemporary dress watches. With a focus on traditional designs mixed with contemporary elements, the complications, skeletonization, and case sizes make them display more modern than a truly traditional dress watch. Because of this mix of modern and classic, Felipe Pikullik watches can be worn in a wide variety of situations and styles, depending on one’s personal tastes.
