More on H. Moser & Cie. Tourbillons

H. Moser is perhaps one of the most famous independent watchmakers on the planet with a nonconformist idea around designs. Best known for combining exceptional quality with quirky designs, H. Moser did not disappoint with the unveiling of their Tourbillon range.

About H. Moser Tourbillons Watches

The Tourbillon conjures ideas of technological prowess to some, and to others, it remains a bone of the past meant to draw your attention. H. Moser goes above and beyond to make the Tourbillon a centerpiece in an already staggeringly striking piece of art in a way only they could.
With the freedom of being an independent brand and the dauntlessness of unique designs, the H. Moser Tourbillon range is something to behold. If you're looking for a stunning watch with a sportier design and a tourbillon complication, check out the Streamliner collection.

H. Moser Tourbillons History

H. Moser has been adorning their watches with tourbillons for some time, and the Tourbillon range has, obviously, seen the most of this. The tourbillon itself is quite useless other than being something to look at in a wristwatch, but H. Moser has created a wide range of different models, all presenting it in a unique way.
From the 'subtle' Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Tiger's Eye to the definitely not-so-subtle Cylindrical Tourbillon, H. Moser has continued to innovate both technologically and aesthetically. They even made a Tourbillon Minute Repeater with no hands!

How Much Do H. Moser Tourbillons Watches Cost?

There is no denying that any tourbillon will cost more than your average GMT or diver. What's more, with H. Moser being independent and such a niche brand, prices are going to be slightly elevated, but for good reason. H. Moser is known for retaining value, so the entry price point of more than $70,000 isn't so scary.

What's Unique About H. Moser Tourbillons Watches?

Each tourbillon is incredibly special and unique already, but H. Moser takes this a step further by creating some of the most mesmerizing designs for contemporary tastes. H. Moser is a brand that isn't afraid to walk off the beaten path to try something new - such as the use of Vantablack on several models.
This black is the blackest black on the planet, nearly absorbing all incoming white light. This, combined with a sleek and minimalist design, makes for watches that are something to behold.

H. Moser Tourbillon Movements

H. Moser is known for creating stunning in-house movements, all on display with the Tourbillon range. The H. Moser & Cie Caliber HMC 804 was initially released in the Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack in 2022, an in-house movement featuring a double hairspring flying Tourbillon beating at 21,600 bph (3 Hz) with 72-hours of power reserve.
The H. Moser & Cie Caliber HMC 811 movement is found in the skeleton Pioneer featuring a 60-second flying tourbillon and a full gold automatic rotor. This movement also makes use of a cylindrical (versus flat) balance spring.

H. Moser Tourbillons Watch Colors

H. Moser has not spared any expense in designing and incorporating different colors and combinations of colors to create some extremely striking watches.
The Endeavour range is presented with some rather interesting color schemes, starting with some sober blue dials before H. Moser turns things up with the addition of a Vantablack dial - the blackest black on the planet. Then, for the really bold, they even offer an Ox's Eye stone dial variation.
The Endeavour range also features some other lesser-seen dial configurations, like a gradient red fume dial and a 'funky blue' variation as well.
The Streamliner range features the same Vantablack dial seen on the Endeavour combined with a full 18K rose gold case and bracelet. The Pioneer range is a bit of a mix, with the fume blue dial being rather elegant whereas the skeleton version has, well, no color at all.

H. Moser Tourbillons Watch Materials

H. Moser extends its design language to use rather interesting case materials as well. The Endeavor range featuring the Tourbillon movement is presented in two variations. One features a black DLC-finished steel case, which is combined with the Vantablack dial.
The Ox's eye dial variant is presented in an 18K 5N rose or red gold case featuring extremely meticulous polishing and satin-finishing work.
The Streamliner range is also finished in 18K 5N rose or red gold and features the Vantablack dial. The Pioneer range is presented in highly polished stainless steel.
All models are presented with a double AR-coated sapphire crystal on the front and the caseback.

H. Moser Tourbillons Watch Types

H. Moser is certainly known for one type of watch - luxurious dress pieces. While certain models have sportier features, you're not likely to wear one of these on a hike - unless you own the mountain too...
The watches that feature a Tourbillon are all appropriately dress pieces, with a simple two-hand time-only functionality. Other models do feature chronograph functionality, but H. Moser has not expanded the watch types as of yet.

H. Moser Tourbillons Watch Complications

As mentioned, H. Moser has a crystal clear idea of who they are, who their customers are, and what they produce. There are some models in the Heritage and Pioneer range featuring date, chronograph, and perpetual calendar complications. However, all watches featuring a Tourbillon only display the hours and minutes.

H. Moser Tourbillons Sizes

Seeing as H. Moser focused on designing dress models, you need not expect 50mm behemoths here, no. The Endeavor range is slightly larger than other dress pieces at 42mm, whereas the Streamliner and Pioneer are slightly smaller at 40mm.
