The new blue hour
HYT launches the Hastroid Supernova Blue, this contemporary blue version features vibrant blue fluid in the retrograde hour indicator and a blue central minute hand, contrasting beautifully against the glossy anthracite carbon and titanium case. The honeycomb grid with white Lumicast luminescent material enhances readability, while the embossed rubber and Alcantara strap completes the striking aesthetic.
The watch houses the 501 CM calibre, a 352-component manual winding movement with 72 hours of power reserve. HYT's patented mecafluidic system uses two bellows with walls one-quarter the thickness of a human hair to control immiscible fluids that display time. The system achieves airtightness 10,000 times greater than a diver's watch, with a thermal compensator managing temperature variations.
The 48mm diameter case combines titanium and carbon in a multi-layer construction, waterproof to 50 meters. Designed by Davide Cerrato, the domed sapphire crystal provides clear views of the mecafluid mechanism with its distinctive central bellow reservoirs. Dashboard-style subdials display small seconds and power reserve for intuitive reading.
The Hastroid Supernova Blue embodies HYT's reputation as the "UFO of luxury watchmaking," merging ancient water clock concepts with avant-garde engineering. Eric Coudray's innovative calibre ensures perfect synchronization between mechanical and fluid time, with automatic retrograde reset at 6 o'clock. This pioneering timepiece celebrates space exploration with unlimited technical and creative ambition.
