Celebrating its 240th anniversary in 2025, L. Leroy introduces the Bal du Temps, an exceptional timepiece from the Osmior collection. Founded in Paris in 1785, the Maison has long been known for combining tradition with technical innovation. Produced in limited numbers and manufactured exclusively in Geneva, this new model marks an important milestone for the brand. The Bal du Temps reflects L. Leroy’s commitment to preserving its heritage while continuing to push the boundaries of fine mechanical watchmaking.
The watch features a 43 mm case available in 18K 5N red gold, platinum, or lightweight grade 5 titanium. Its polished “tambour” shape and refined details reflect the classic design codes of the Osmior collection. The openworked dial reveals the movement inside, with a flying tourbillon visible at 6 o’clock. Time is shown with a single hour hand, while the minutes are indicated acoustically through a minute repeater activated by a slide on the side of the case. This unusual way of reading the time is inspired by historical L. Leroy “à tact” watches, linking the new model to the brand’s past.
Inside the watch is the hand-wound L610SQ calibre, a complex movement made of 321 components. It beats at 3 Hz and offers a power reserve of 90 hours. The movement combines two prestigious complications: a minute repeater and a flying tourbillon. The repeater chimes the hours, quarters, and minutes on demand using two gongs, while the rotating tourbillon helps improve accuracy. With its refined design, advanced mechanics, and limited production, the Bal du Temps highlights L. Leroy’s watchmaking expertise and marks a new chapter in the brand’s long history.
