The Chief Skeleton, Favre Leuba’s first-ever skeleton timepiece, blends heritage and innovation to mark a new chapter in a 288-year watchmaking journey
In 2025, Favre Leuba deepens its pioneering legacy with the introduction of some of the most technically sophisticated and visually captivating timepieces in its history. At the forefront stands the Chief Skeleton, the brand’s first-ever skeletonized creation inspired by the iconic Chief case design of the 1970s. This bold debut pays homage to the brand's heritage while marking a defining milestone in the enduring journey of one of the world’s oldest watchmakers.
Case
Streamlined Proportions
The Chief Skeleton revives the iconic cushion-shaped case in stainless steel, blending refined design with enhanced wearability. At 40mm wide, 11.76mm thick, it offers comfort across wrist sizes. Its multifaceted form balances curves and edges, with brushed surfaces and polished bevels. A curved sapphire crystal and a knurled crown embossed with the Favre Leuba logo complete the look, capturing both elegance and strength.
Dial
Strikingly Skeletonized
The bold skeletonized dial marks Favre Leuba’s first step into the art of skeletonization. At its center lies a striking view of the movement, where minimalist timekeeping elements highlight the exposed mechanism.
The essential time indicators sit on the outer flange. Minute markers are printed, while applied hour markers feature rustic rhodium plating with a polished finish. The hands mirror these details with rhodium plating, polished surfaces, and sandblasted grooves.
Bracelet
Seamlessly Integrated Yet Interchangeable
The smooth FKM rubber strap adds an elegant, sporty aesthetic to the watch. It is seamlessly integrated into the case for a graceful presence on the wrist. Designed to accompany you on all adventures, the strap is equipped with an easy change mechanism and secured with a logo-detailed pin buckle.
Movement
Custom-Designed Skeleton Movement
The Chief Skeleton is powered by the custom-designed manufacture caliber FLS02, developed with AMT. This self-winding movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, offers a 41-hour power reserve, and reveals a semi-exposed barrel at 12 o’clock with a visible balance wheel at 6 o’clock.
Favre Leuba’s first skeleton movement showcases a multi-layered openwork design with clean lines and maximized open space. The custom-designed balance wheel bridge and spanning bridges feature horizontal brushing, while all components are finished in black chrome for a bold look.
Rotor
Custom Skeletonized Design
The rotor is skeletonized and custom-designed with Soleillage finishes. Skeletonization of the rotor is an extremely precise task with more implications than just aesthetics. It is engraved with a Favre Leuba monogram as a medallion.
Lume
Refined Utility
Day or night, the Chief Skeleton shines with densely applied SuperLuminova C1 X1 on the hour markers and hands, emitting a striking blue glow. This enhanced luminosity ensures effortless readability in low light, seamlessly blending style and function for a bold, practical, and visually captivating timepiece.
