This re-created model preserves the design of the first Grand Seiko launched in 1960, adding the manual winding mechanical Caliber 9S64 movement. The combination of case, wristband, and embossed Grand Seiko logo strongly evoke the style of the original model. The case is finished to befit a modern luxury watch with the same 80 um-thick 18k yellow gold plating as the original, and a dark-brown crocodile band.
The newly designed dual-curve sapphire glass not only recreates the graceful style of the original model, it also ensures a high degree of face legibility. The domed dial's gentle curve towards its outer edge, coupled with the dual-curve sapphire glass, further compliments the classical look of this watch. The 18k yellow gold markers (with the same diamond cut as on the original watch) give this watch a sense of magnificence.
