Big Bang Original Unico: 20 Years in the Making
Where obsession meets mastery
The Big Bang Original Unico carries the Big Bang legacy into the next era, with meaningful upgrades inside and out. Its DNA is seen and felt in millimeters and microns. Movements rebuilt until they disappear into silence. Surfaces reconsidered where no one is looking—because the invisible still matters. Thousands of hours converging into a form that holds its ground without explanation.
At its core is Unico: Hublotʼs fully in-house chronograph movement. Not added, but integrated. Not displayed, but revealed. Five patented innovations work in concert beneath the surface, regulating power, friction, and precision with quiet authority. The result is not complexity for its own sake, but control—measured, resolved, exact.
Material legacy
Titanium: Hublotʼs engineering DNA
Used since the early Big Bang and known for being almost two times lighter than steel, it delivers aerospace-grade strength with featherweight comfort.
Movements
UNICO
By developing its own automatic chronograph movement, Hublot wanted it to be – like all of its creations – the first, different and unique. As the soul of the watch, this movement with an “open heart” reveals its completely re-imagined design, with double clutch system and column-wheel from the dial side as well as a 72-hour power reserve. Its construction of 354 components has been simplified as much as possible to improve reliability and robustness.
Materials
TITANIUM
Titanium is extensively used by Hublot, specifically for its lightness. It displays the best relationship between resistance and weight of any material, which makes it an extremely popular material especially within aeronautics. It also stands out with its resistance to corrosion and its inertia in contact with the skin. Hublot only uses high quality, grade 5 titanium, the strongest there is. Once polished, this material retains a slightly bluish metallic sheen.
