MeisterSinger ED-PMN-STRAUSS Pangaea Johan Strauss Limited Edition
200 years Johann Strauß
Limited to 125 Pieces.
Dial
The Edition Johann Strauss Pangaea features an extraordinary dial design, a delicate, wave-like surface structure is reminiscent of the course of the Danube – a visual echo of Strauss’ most famous composition. Above the 6 o’clock position is a silver-colored portrait of Johann Strauss, discreetly integrated but clearly recognizable. The numerals, also in silver, are meticulously applied and add another structural layer to the design of the dial.
Case
The elegant, slender stainless steel case of the Pangaea is 40 mm in diameter, water-resistant up to 5 bar, and fitted with a domed sapphire glass over the dial. The movement can be easily viewed through the sixfold screwed glass exhibition back as it performs its high-precision task. The back of the case features an elaborate, delicate engraving of Strauss’ likeness, along with his flowing signature and the edition number.
Movement
The Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement, which is specially modified for MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches, quietly ticks inside the Pangaea. The rotor supplies the automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve.
Features
Johann Strauss (1825–1899) was an exceptional musical talent. As a composer, conductor, and celebrated virtuoso, he shaped the cultural identity of the 19th century far beyond the Austrian city of Vienna. No other name is as closely associated with the waltz as his – and hardly any other work symbolizes Austrian musical tradition as much as The Blue Danube. To mark his 200th birthday in 2025, MeisterSinger is dedicating not just one, but two exclusive, strictly limited edition watches to the Waltz King. The Johann Strauss Pangaea Edition is limited to 125 pieces. MeisterSinger has spared no expense in creating the packaging of each of these unique watches, which feature a portrait of Johann Strauss and an embossed design.
Reading a single-hand watch
Each line in the outer circle of MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches stands for exactly 5 minutes. The hand is therefore both an hour hand and a minute hand. For example, if the hand points to the fifth stroke after ten, the time is 10:25.
The line hierarchy typical of MeisterSinger single-hand watches additionally divides the time display into half and quarter hours, thus making it easier to read off the time accurately.
