Graham Silverstone RS Review
This collection of Graham watches is amazing, as are all Graham watches. The attention to every detail is apparent in this collection of luxury time-pieces, such that it dazzles horologists and watch connoisseurs alike. The Graham Silverstone watches focus on color and size. This sets the collection apart from other Graham collections, with the exception of The Moon series in the Geo Graham collection. The Bezel and dial of watches in the Graham Silverstone collection are ornamented with different primary hues, giving them a different, sporty look.
This collection of Graham watches is well-known for its personal nature; this owes thanks to the hues which add life to the dial. The watches are encased in gold and black carbon, and hi-grade stainless steel. The straps used for some of the watches lend the collection its most unique feature. The rubber strap is shaped in a tire tread pattern, and inset with a different color for contrast, giving the watches an even more athletic, and masculine look. It becomes evident where the Collection got the name Silverstone RennSport from. The entire series in the collection were inspired by the origins of racing.
Thus, the accuracy in the time-pieces of the Graham Silverstone RS is to be envied. The watches contain an automatic bi-compax chronograph for seconds and thirty minutes. This is placed in ways to gain the most visual. On the right side of the watch, steel pushers are affixed with ‘Clous de Paris’ – an intricate guilloche motif that intersects to form tiny pyramid-like shapes on the metal parts of the watch. The back of the watches in the Graham Silverstone RS collection are see-through sapphire crystals that have been engraved with the limited serial number.
The collection boasts young and competitive people as faces of the collection. It is endorsed by Steven Liquorish, a race car champion. Liquorish uses a Silverstone Stowe Racing. Alongside Steven, Liquorish is Mario Dominguez who also wears a Silverstone Racing watch. The official brand ambassador of Graham, Graham Rahal, a namesake of the brand and a renowned car racing prodigal, wears a Silverstone Stowe GMT Red to match his uniform. Graham Silverstone RS collection has been endorsed by a host of important people, including Thai actor Athichart Chummanol.
The watches in the series have partnered with ice hockey champions, such as the NHL Los Angeles Kings Team, the winners of the 2012 Stanley Cup. This collection has been associated with exuberance, energy, competitiveness, and energy. In a display of sportiness, the watches were a part of the Spengler Cup competition, Switzerland’s ice-hockey championship. It is obvious that this collection is elite and incredibly competent and unique. The prices of each of the watches in the collection vary, and it can be accessed on our website.
Graham Silverstone RS Skeleton Watch
The Graham Silverstone RS Skeleton features a design worthy of the best, and most powerful, German motorsport technology. The watch rivals the efficacy and precision of automobile mechanics, in watchmaking. This series offers a choice of strap and buckle, thus, the buyer can choose the Skeleton watch with rubber straps, or the options with leather straps. However, the Graham Silverstone Skeleton watches with leather straps are only water-resistant up to 300 feet, while the others with rubber straps are water-resistant up to 330 feet.
There are two models of Skeleton watches with rubber straps in the series; one with a yellow inset, and another with a red inset. Both models are limited editions with 250 pieces. The Silverstone RS Skeleton with leather strap – more specifically, integrated brown alligator – is also a limited edition with 250 pieces.
The caliber used for this series is G1790, with an automatic skeleton chronograph. The view of the balance wheel and escapement are emphasized in this series. This is because skeleton watches place focus on the technicality and mechanical accuracy of the watch, and how it is run. Thus, less emphasis is placed on aesthetics. With an openwork plate and balance bridge, as well as a rhodium movement with hand-drawn strokes, the Skeleton series of Graham Silverstone RS collection is no different.
Graham Silverstone RS GMT Watch
This series of the Graham Silverstone RS collection was created to celebrate the partnership of Graham as Official Timer and title sponsor to the Gurnigel Bergrennen hill race in Switzerland. This series serves as a commemoration of the event. As it is with the Silverstone Skeleton series, there are models with leather straps, and there are models with rubber straps. The models with tyre tread rubber straps complement the dark glass dial, giving it a unique look.
The Graham Silverstone RS GMT considers the driver’s needs first and foremost. The generous and reasonable proportions of the watch make it easier for a driver to operate during the competition, and the rubber-covered chronograph controls ensure direct contact with fingers. The graduations of the bezel allow the wearer/racer to quickly use the GMT feature swiftly, especially since the bezel is engraved in a 24-hour format. This is useful to travelers who are currently moving from one time zone to another. The GMT can be adjusted in hourly increments, free of the main hour hand.
The racing theme of the series is shown in the dashboard-like subdials. The arrow tip of the GMT is filled with Super-LumiNova which indicates the 24-hour numerals on the ceramic bezel. This leads to the tachymeter print on the inside of the flange. Although there is a lot for the driver to take in, the design of Silverstone RS GMT is such that the functions are visibly outlined and readily legible. Thus, the driver is not in any way affected by the designs.
The Graham Silverstone RS GMT has two models: Luffield GMT, and Stowe GMT. Graham Silverstone Luffield GMT watches have incredible features; from the double date discs to the tachymeter bezel, each feature adds a unique nature to the watch. This series is different from the other two in the Silverstone RS collection because of its provision for GMT. There are GMT and minute counters with silver rings, GMT scales at the center of the dials, and many other features. This model is also limited to 250 pieces. It has a carbon bezel, and rim with tachymeter scale, with a sapphire anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The other model, Stowe GMT, is named after a famous curve on England’s renowned Silverstone motor-racing track. Graham Silverstone Stowe GMT watches use caliber G1721 which provides 48 hours of power reserve, with an automatic bi-compax chronograph. The flyback chronograph on the Graham Silverstone Stowe GMT is used to time laps. It resets and restarts the stopwatch at the push of a button. This watch is perfect for racers, businessmen, and generally, people who want to admire its aesthetic. This series is also a limited edition, with only 250 pieces issued. Its case is crafted from stainless steel with PVD coating, allowing for the control pushers which are attached with ‘Clous de Paris’ high grip pattern. Both the Luffield GMT and Stowe GMT models are water-resistant, up to 300 feet.
Graham Silverstone RS Racing Watch
The Graham Silverstone RS Racing series is much like the other watches in the collection, in that it is dedicated to intensity, and speed. Each piece from this series is heavily influenced by speed competitions, with the dials modeled after dashboards, and the straps are in a tire tread pattern. This series is water-resistant, up to 330 feet, courtesy of its special sealing. This series features a new innovation from Graham watches; a date indicator at 3 o’clock. At the other side of the dial, at 9 o’clock, the seconds counter is shaped like the brake disc of an automobile. The tachymeter function can be used to calculate speed on the basis of travel time or to measure distance if the speed is already known.
It is encased in stainless steel cases which symbolize the active nature of the series, and the rings surrounding it are in different hues of color, lending it a three-dimensional feel. The background of the dial is adorned with the pattern of a checkerboard, thus symbolizing the flag used to indicate the start and end of a speed race. The chronograph of the Graham Silverstone RS Racing is powered by the caliber G1749, and its movements are protected by an Incabloc shock absorber.
In the Silverstone RS Racing series, there are three models. These models are essentially the same, at least in technical features, but the differences appear in different hues. There exists a model with a blue bezel, and blue strap with a red inset; another model with a black bezel, and a white strap with a black inset; and a third model with a green bezel, and a black strap with an orange inset.
