At 14:35 PM on December 9, 2022, the Smart Dragon-3 launch vehicle was successfully launched in the waters of the Yellow Sea. It accurately placed 14 satellites and a Berenice Starship 2 watch into predetermined orbit, setting the highest record for a Chinese commercial rocket with one arrow and multiple stars.
The “Starship II China Rocket Special Edition” watch by Behrens is onboard the “Smart Dragon-3” and is destined for the stars. Accompanying the satellite, the watch was released into the satellite’s orbit and now drifts in space.
Powered by a new BA01 automatic mechanical movement, developed specifically for the rocket launch mission by BEHRENS, the watch has undergone rigorous testing to ensure timekeeping accuracy and adaptability to extreme environments.
On the back is a specially engraved metal badge designed by an artist.
The badge design centers on an astronaut’s space helmet, reflecting the Chinese rocket collaboration.
Additionally, it incorporates elements of stars, machinery, and the traditional Chinese culture of the Sun God Bird.
