AN ILLUMINATING JOURNEY: CZAPEK x REVOLUTION
After more than a year of conceptualizing, we are proud to unveil the Czapek x Revolution Antarctique Révélation Spectrum — a timepiece that celebrates the milestones of both brands. Limited to just 20 pieces, the timepiece pays full respect to the original design of the Antarctique Révélation, while introducing a bold, meaningful twist to a deeply admired watch – a truly rewarding experience for both partners. And we couldn’t be happier with the result.
LUMINOUS CONTRAST
The idea for this watch was to use the Czapek Antarctique Révélation as a canvas and infuse it with a distinct Revolution twist. The Antarctique Révélation is already a stunning timepiece — showcasing a fully open-worked design with no traditional dial, only a subtle gray chapter ring around the periphery that carries the hour markers and minute track.
When Revolution founder Wei Koh in collaboration with Constant Kwong began exploring how to evolve this design while preserving its core identity, they quickly aligned on a direction: to creatively utilize the open spaces within the bridges and introduce bold contrast. The solution was to apply Super-LumiNova to nearly every visible surface — from the bridges securing the mainspring barrel to the finger bridges supporting the subsidiary seconds.
A TRIPLE ANNIVERSARY
The year 2025 marks a major milestone for Revolution magazine — its 20th anniversary. To commemorate this occasion, Revolution wanted to collaborate with close friends in the industry to create unique timepieces that not only reflect their shared passion, but also embody a strong sense of brand identity.
As fate would have it, Czapek is also celebrating a milestone: its 10th anniversary since its revival in 2015, and its 180th anniversary since its founding in 1845. This collaboration, therefore, marks a triple celebration — a special piece honoring three significant birthdays, making it all the more meaningful.
A BEAUTY WITH A HEART
The movement inside the Révélation Spectrum, the automatic Czapek Caliber SXH7, is a different creation from the earlier SXH5 used in the standard three-hand Antarctique models. As expected, it's fully skeletonized, with much of the bridge material strategically removed to reveal the intricate mechanics beneath.
The “dial” side has been thoughtfully reimagined: the date function and central seconds hand have been removed in favor of a subsidiary seconds display, positioned at 4:30 on a striking black sapphire disk.
THE MOVEMENT
The SXH7 caliber, was born as an evolution of the SXH5 movement. The decision of skeletonizing the main plate raised a number of significant challenges, the first one being to completely reverse the escapement. Then the oscillating mass had to be engraved on both sides, for example, and the crown mechanism, now visible to the naked eye, had to be reworked entirely. On a more technical note, the seconds hand could no longer be connected by a bridge to the center, so space was made at 4:30 for a small seconds dial. The solution was to use sapphire crystal ring for the seconds. It is discreetly attached to the larger sapphire ring carrying the hours and minutes and ensuring as much transparency as possible, so the wearer can take a deep dive into the mechanism.
EVERY DETAIL COUNTS
In fine watchmaking, every little detail counts. Besides the exceptional SXH7 movement and the sleek and sharp design of the case or the dial, a great deal of attention was put on the bracelet. The feeling when placed on the wrist, the comfort in every situation and lightness are as important as the timepiece visual and technical qualities. The capability to be forgotten by its wearer and to suddenly reveal its stunning beauty create an intensely pleasurable dichotomy. This is why the Antarctique collection is equipped by an ergonomic brushed integrated bracelet, whose links mesh to form a highly polished 'C' for Czapek.
PLAY WITH YOUR BRACELET
But there’s more, since January 2022, this bracelet also features a micro-adjustment system, allowing the wearer to extend its lenght by few milimeters in an instant. An additional strap is also provided, as Czapek has developed an exclusive quick-change system allowing the wearer to switch from one strap to another in a minute. A large choice of straps is now offered to provide a maximum versatility and playful experience. A selection of soft calf straps with contrasting topstitches can be also order on demand.
