140th Anniversary Limited Edition Alpinist 1959 Re-interpretation. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, the Seiko Prospex line meets every challenge with technological excellence and style. This extraordinary re-interpretation of the watch that launched a rich legacy of over 60 years of sports watch excellence, available only in a Limited Edition of 3,500, rounds off the year-long celebration of Seiko’s 140th anniversary by looking toward the future while honoring the past. The intricate patterning of the blue-green dial evokes the paving stones once common in Tokyo’s Ginza, long the company’s headquarters, while the turquoise second hand adds light to the blue and white anniversary colors, symbolizing a commitment to keep going forward. Styled to fit contemporary tastes while evoking a vintage feel, this exceptional watch is as smooth and refined as the prized 1959 version, but far more powerful. With the original’s mountain-shaped markers at 12, 6 and 9 ensuring legibility while referring to its mountaineering inspiration, this versatile design features LumiBrite hands and markers and a date calendar, as well a curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface.
The special limited edition screwdown see-through caseback provides a view of the 24-jewel automatic movement, which beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and offers manual winding capability. In stainless steel, with tri-fold push button release clasp. 20 bar, 200M Water Resistant.
